Pets in National Parks

Posted by: Anonymous User at 20/03/2005

The parks are for EVERYBODY and dogs are very much part of many a family. If as some people believe, the scent of the animal disturbs the environment then, the human scent should also not be allowed in these parks. If strict controls (i.e. dogs on leash at all times and fines for anybody not picking up after their pets) are in place, I see no reason why dog lovers have to be penalised in any way shape or form as last time I looked, having a dog was still a legal activity. I only feel it is a shame that more and more families are becoming so urban that they no longer have the time or emotional capacity to enjoy 'man's best friend' especially when they have children as kids enjoy a morning playing with their pets more than 'cappuccino's at some trendy cafe on a Sunday morning'.
